How to download the Bell Total Connect Desktop app in Mac OS X 10.8 or higher

Newer versions of the Mac operating system (OS 10.8 or higher) have a feature called “Gatekeeper” that ensures applications are downloaded and installed from identified developers or through the Apple App Store. To avoid any issues downloading and installing your Bell Total Connect Desktop app, you can easily update your security settings.

Which version of Mac OS X are you running?

Click on the Apple icon at the top right of your screen and choose About this Mac to see which version of the Mac operating system is installed on your computer.

If you have Mac OS 10.8 or higher, you will need to change your security settings before downloading the Bell Total Connect Desktop app.

How to update your security settings

To change your security settings in Mac OS X 10.8 or higher:

  1. Open System Preferences
  2. Click on Security & Privacy
  3. Click the tab that says General
  4. Under "Allow applications downloaded from", choose Anywhere

If you want to restore the original Gatekeeper settings once you have installed the Bell Total Connect Desktop app, simply follow these same instructions and choose "Mac App Store and identified developers".
