There is an Internet outage at my business


Bell Mobility and Bell Internet customers get exclusive access to our Complimentary Bell Mobility Hotspot service. Enjoy up to 50 GB of mobile data for three days to use as your Internet during an extended outage, free of charge.

Note: does not apply to wired point-of-sale systems

To request the service:

  1. Contact Internet Technical Support.
  2. Inform the agent that you’re experiencing an Internet outage at your business location.
  3. Book a technician appointment with the agent and accept the Complimentary Bell Mobility Hotspot service.
  4. Provide your Mobility phone number (up to 5).
  5. Turn on the hotspot feature on your mobile phone as per the instructions provided by the agent.

Mobility plan and feature eligibility rules

  • Requires an active Bell Small Business Mobility account
  • Requires a smartphone with Wi-Fi hotspot functionality
  • Select smartphone rate plans are eligible (mobile Internet/tablet/IoT plans are NOT eligible)
  • A data block feature should not be applied on the mobile line
  • After the 50 GB of mobile data expires or at the end of the third day (whichever comes first), standard mobile data charges apply (either from a Mobility data plan or pay-per-use without a data plan)
  • Does not apply to wired point-of-sale systems
  • Only available during extended Internet outages

  1. How does it work?
    If a Small Business Bell Mobility and Bell Internet customer experiences an Internet outage at their business location, they can contact our Internet Technical Support  and request the Complimentary Bell Mobility Hotspot service for up to five Bell Mobility numbers. 50 GB of data will be added to the account (does not apply to wired point-of-sale systems) and will be removed after three days.
  2. What is the duration of this service?
    The Complimentary Bell Mobility Hotspot will be removed after three days. The hotspot can be used as a temporary Internet connection while the technician is fixing the Internet issue at the business location.
  3. How much does this service cost?
    This service is provided free of charge for three days to Small Business customers who have both Bell Mobility and Bell Internet, as long as they request the service from Internet Technical Support.
  4. What happens if usage goes over 50 GB?
    If usage goes over 50 GB, you’ll be charged for data according to your Mobility plan.

To avoid usage overage above 50 GB, you can check how much you're using in MyBell. You'll also receive a text reminder on the third day that the service is expiring.
