How to reset my Giga Hub modem to factory settings
Resetting your modem to factory settings may be required should you forget the administrator password you created.
- Press the down arrow and scroll to Reset to factory default.
- Scroll to Yes and press OK to confirm.
- Wait for the modem to restore the factory default settings.
- Open a web browser and follow the online instructions.
How to retrieve the administrator password on my Giga Hub modem
By default, the administrator password is the serial number located on the sticker on the back of the modem, but you can set your own.
The administrator password is required when accessing your modem's settings. In the modem settings, you can view devices that are connected, and change the Wi-Fi name and password.
How to set or change the administrator password on my Giga Hub modem
The administrator password is used to access the modem’s settings.
- Open your web browser and visit bell.ca/mymodem or 192.168.2.1.
- Click on Modem preferences.
- If prompted, enter the administrator password.
Unless you’ve changed it, the password is the serial number located on the sticker on the back of the modem.
- Type the current administrator password in the Current password field.
- Type a new password in the New password field.
- Type the new password once more in the Confirm password field.
- Click Save.
How to set up password recovery on my Giga Hub modem
By setting up password recovery, you can have your password emailed or texted to you should you forget it.
- Open your web browser and visit bell.ca/mymodem or 192.168.2.1.
- Click on Modem preferences.
- If prompted, enter the administrator password.
Unless you’ve changed it, the password is the serial number located on the sticker on the back of the modem.
- Under Password recovery, turn on By email or text message.
- In the Contact information section, enter your email address.
- Confirm your email address.
- Optionally, you can also enter your mobile number to receive a text message.
- Click Save.
How to change the language on your Giga Hub modem
To change the language of your modem interface, log in to your modem while you’re connected to your primary Wi-Fi network.
- Open your web browser and visit bell.ca/mymodem or 192.168.2.1.
- If prompted, enter the administrator password.

- Select English or Français at the top right corner.
- To switch back, select Français or English.
To change the language on the modem itself:
- Press the up or down arrows on the front of your modem until Switch to English or Passer au français is highlighted.
- Press the OK button.
